Families and Inequality

Year Founded 2024

Seminar # 821

StatusActive

This seminar seeks to foster an interdisciplinary community of scholars who research the causes and consequences of inequality among families as well as possible solutions. The sessions feature discussions of new work on families and inequality by members, with occasional external speakers. Members include faculty and researchers from a broad range of disciplines, including economics, education, history, law, psychology, political science, public health, social work, and sociology. The seminar provides a forum for interdisciplinary conversation and learning at Columbia—for both Columbia and Barnard affiliates as well as researchers and scholars at other colleges and universities in the New York City area.
